An Entrepreneurship Financing Tool
"Grand Nancy Initiatives" is a platform for local initiatives (PFIL). Founded in 2000, under the aegis of the Urban Community, it was designed to foster job-creating initiatives by granting individual loans. It is headed by an approval committee composed of company leaders or managers. It takes action through two avenues : providing loans that range from EUR 4,500 to 15,000 with no interest and guarantees, and setting up sponsorship programmes with experienced managers.
Thanks to the contributions from banks in the region (BPLC, SNVB and Caisse d’Epargne des Pays Lorrains), EDF-GDF, Cora, Saint-Gobain PAM, APROFIN (Association of Finance Professionals), Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, the national government, the Meurthe-et-Moselle General Council, the Urban Community Regional Council, "Grand Nancy Initiatives" now operates with an action fund of around EUR 800,000, which allow it to support around 40 projects per year. In four years, over 1 million euros in honour loans were granted to 130 project owners.
The "Grand Nancy Initiatives" Approval Committee came together on 19 January 2006. It granted BRUNCH's Coffi a 15,000 euro honour loan. Brunch's Coffi is a tea room, croissant bakery and snack shop near Place Stanislas.
Already, last 15 December, 32,000 euros were loaned at zero interest for 3 entrepreneurship projects in Greater Nancy :
HDL AMBULANCES (Nancy)
A newly-founded medical land transport business, transporting seated or reclined patients by ambulance and lightweight medical vehicles, in Haut du Lièvre, in Urban Free-one.
ASIA WOK (Nancy)
A newly-founded fast-food business based on the concept of Asian take-out. The concept may be developed further, with other establishments to open.
XTREME LOGISTIC SOLUTIONS (Villers-lès-Nancy)
This project is designed around 2 areas of activity :
. Shared-time work for senior managers in the fields of logistics and transport
. Marketing high added-value transport services in the Greater East, in partnership with the leading European player in extremely urgent road and air transport. |
